Tracking macros is a necessity for anyone taking their diet and fitness seriously. MyFitnessPal

This is our #1 choice for a nutrition tracking app.  It’s free, tracks all your macronutrients, has a massive food database, has a barcode scanner for easy logging, recipes, food insights and more.  This is our app of choice and what we use on a daily basis.  Check it out here.

MyPlate

Also a free app, MyPlate is connected to the LIVESTRONG.com website.  Similar functionality to the MyFitnessPal app, it is absolutely a great alternative if you are a frequent user of the associated website.  You can check it out here.

MyPlate Calorie Counter

Nutrients

While we do not find the need for this app which is $4.99, it for sure can be a bit more comprehensive than our other choices.  Containing more information about micronutrients and even information pertaining to things such as caffeine content, this app does not leave much for surprise.  If you are interested in checking it out, here is a link to the iPhone app.
